We are delighted to have the opportunity to apply to enter a team to play in the top flight of Women’s football next season.
We have spent the past few seasons building towards this opportunity and believe our Club has demonstrated in 2017 that we have the capacity to field a competitive senior women’s team and have the necessary players, coaches, support and infrastructure to enter the highest-level competition for women’s football in the State.
Our Club has invested considerable time and resources into the development of our female players over the last few years. This has resulted in a growth in female player participation numbers to a point where they now represent one-third of our player membership.
Our Head of Women’s football, Craig Westwood said: “The Women’s Super League is the pinnacle of Women’s football in Tasmania and we have worked very hard to be included in this league. Should we be granted a licence I am sure our current players and any new recruits will love what our Club has to offer.”
Senior Women's pre-season training will start on the week commencing 30 October 2017.
More details coming soon.
